3D Globe Mania

I’m a bit tired of the whole 3D spinning globe thing. It’s been done. Over and over.
But…
You gotta hand it to the new BBH site, it’s pretty:

WHITEvoid Kills It With Viewzi

WHITEvoid was commissioned to create an intuitive visual 3D image browser for viewzi.com called the “3D photo cloud view”. Viewzi is a whole new way to experience search. Instead of one big list, you get nice visual Views tailored for the content you are looking for.

Data Viz Madness

Researching a project and compiled a badass list of dopeness. Enjoy…

Drop.io Rocks

Without being able to get into too much detail, I’ve been working with the cats at drop.io on some new brand/interface goodness. Cant share just yet, but if you haven’t heard of them (they offer “drop” space for anyone to create a digital space to input any type of media/digital files/phone messages/faxes, view them and output them by downloading zips/emailing links/etc.) check them out.

Thoughts on Data Visualization

As I get deeper into my studies of data visualization, I’ve been sharing some of my observations and thoughts with the creative team here at Roundarch. I’m admittedly a terrible power-point presenter, but I thought I’d share some of the recent talks I’ve led discussion on. Below are two links to the longer talk I gave to the creative team as well as the abbreviated version to the combined UX/VD team. Read ‘em, ignore ‘em – whatev.

Usability Design Observation

While walking around today I noticed jerseys hanigng in the window of the WNBA store and remarked to myself that the names seemed to be in a wierd position. After further thought my guess is that becasue women on average have long hair, the name is located lower down so that it can be easily seen. Pretty smart.

Roundarch Process Illustration

(Role: Art Director.)

At Roundarch we were always looking for new and interesting ways to tell our story of the intersection between Technology, Strategy and Design. To illustrate this I created a series of boards for a looping animation – something of a Reel for trade-shows and other venues where a more “lean-back” approach is best. This screen is one of a few showing this concept.
