Receiving another agency’s work and building off of it is never easy. For the HBO.com flash website, this is exactly what Roundarch had to do. From information architecture to the implementation of key sections, we worked with the HBO team to bring their next generation web experience to life.
The Challenge
My involvement centered around the VIdeo player. This was pre-HBO GO, so users didn’t expect to find full-length videos available, but they did expect rich, engaging content. The goal for this section was increased user exploration and discovery of new properties and content.
The Solution
I designed a simple but powerful interface that exposed the breadth and depth of what HBO has to offer. By interacting with the video sliders, related content was revealed to the user based on the category and type of content they interacted with. It was a built-in “you may also like” feature by the nature of the interface.
