More Experiments With My Drawing Tool

taraProcessed

I spent some time last night tweaking my drawing toy. I still need to work on adding a script to isolate areas of the composition to add definition to. So that I can get areas with more abstract lines and areas with more detail. But in general I’m happy with where it’s going. The original:

Fun With the bitMapData Object

outPut1

I’m a little late to the party here (like 4 years!), but nonetheless I’ve set out to do some generative art work with photography, flash and painterly randomness. These are the first few outputs from the new program I’ve created. Still tweaking things, but you can see my first stab in motion below (it may [...]

Believe the HYPE

I think this is brilliant. Davis has really captured the frustration that I’ve felt with Flash as a platform for artistic and interactive experimentation: Flash has matured incredibly in the past decade, but it has done so in a way that has blocked non-developers from even getting started. Generative Toy

gentoy

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. A while ago I created a flash drawing program to generate color fields for an experimental branding exercise I was doing for Roundarch. I explored using different palettes of color to distinguish between core pillars/competencies within Roundarch. You can read and see more here. Enjoy!

The Man Behind “House of Cards”

After doing a little research yesterday into interactive/reactive visualizations of music (I’ll be attending and hopefully blogging Minitek), I stumbled across Blip Boutique – the creative/motion agency behind Interpol’s Rest My Chemistry video: So it turns out the Artist behind the code-driven visualizations is none other than Aaron Koblin. You may remember him from the [...]

Reactive Logo Experiments

So I’ve been experimenting with the idea of an interactive or reactive logo lately. I’ve been trying to ind the sweet spot between my interests in generative art and data visualization. Roundarch had an intranet years ago called Keystone, which evidently, was very slow, unappreciated and under-utilized. I of course didn’t experience any of this [...]

Amazingly Versatile JS Toolkit

We’re considering using this toolkit for a project of ours. Nothing new in terms of slick functionality – we’ve all seen meebo before -  but to be able to purchase this framework and begin coding out-of-the-box is exciting. There’s even an open-source flavor. On your marks, get set…
